Vintage Engagement Shoot: Camera, Coke and Cake

There's something about engagements that always make me so happy. I think it's how they tend to capture couples in what is closer to their every day lives than the actual wedding photos do. This session, submitted by Lindsey Orton Photography, is no exception. These two are a beautiful couple and you can definitely see how much they love each other and how excited they are to just be together. It takes the real thing and a good photographer to capture it to communicate that kind of feeling in pictures. I hope you enjoy these happy happy happy vintage engagements as much as I do.

Both the props and the personalities in this picture really make this popular engagement location completely unique. I love the pale colors contrasted with the black and of course the huge smiles. :)

I love the way the props are used as part of the setting and the couple still gets center stage in these images. This is a great way to add personality and style to any setting without taking too much attention off the reason for the photos in the first place.

Never underestimate the value of letting the props take center stage sometimes too though. Whether the items have sentimental value or are just props, these images make beautiful accents in photo albums and become really important when you want to remember every detail of your engagement and wedding day. Not to mention that they're just beautiful photos in and of themselves.

These two are just beaming! I love it so much! And the vintage style has been so well thought-through! Even down to the bride-to-be's dress and the groom's tie. It's the details that make all the difference. :)

So cute! The simplicity of this photo and the pale sunshine yellow of her dress really embody the style of the shoot.

These are great photos by themselves, but what I like even more is the combination of them like this. It looks like he's givin' his girl the ol' "How you doin'?" and I love it! And can you blame him? The only thing that outshines that gorgeous dress is the girl inside it.

Everybody loves a little product placement! Whatever this couple's connection to Coke is, these pictures are adorable. I definitely recommend doing at least one wardrobe change during your engagements. To show different sides of your personalities, try mixing up dressy and casual like this couple.

The shirt's got to be a joke! This groom-to-be is positively beside himself with happiness. That's probably why the photographer couldn't leave his face in the shot. Here's a very clever and not-so-conventional way to show off the bride's bling too.

Ahh... so refreshing! Young love and a Coke.. it doesn't get any better. I can't even tell you how completely serious I am  too. This couple knows what's going on. They have all they'll ever need right here in this picture.

One of my absolute favorite poses is the lean-in-for-a-kiss. I like to imagine that their feet are inexplicably tied to the ground, but they just can't be two feet away from each other without a little smooch. Maybe that romanticizes it a little too much, but it's also a grandma-friendly kissing picture, so basically it's a win-win.

Don't forget the details!

As smiley as they are, they look amazing in a more serious pose as well. The black and white is also a great touch--adds a little extra romance to any shot.

Thanks again to Lindsey Orton for sharing these images with us! I just love these sweet engagements and hope they give you some great ideas for your own!
