Ok, I know.
Its been too long.
Way too long.
But I have some good news; Maternity leave is over.
The LDS Bride blog is totally and completely back :D
I have some more good news; My beautiful (and über talented) sister-in-law is joining our team and prepared to blow your mind with her awesomeness...probably.
So without further ado... meet Becky -
My name is Becky Green and I am so excited to be part of the LDS Bride team! As my first contribution to this fantastic blog, let me tell you a little bit about myself. . .
I was raised in an LDS family in Orange County. I met my husband, Quinn, at some stake activity some time in our youth. Neither of us can really remember which one. But we're so glad that it happened! Even though we spent most of high school and college as friends, we finally realized that we were MFEO (meant for each other-- there's a Sleepless in Seattle reference for the fans out there), fell in love, and were married in April of last year, just shy of a year after Quinn got home from his mission to Puebla, Mexico.

Me and Quinn at our reception in April 2011 |
While Quinn was busy knocking doors in Mexico, I was busy getting my degree from Brigham Young University in English teaching. I love the beauty and power of the written word and find grammar oddly fascinating. I recently finished my student teaching at a middle school in Sandy, UT and graduated in December of 2011. I value my education very much, and even though I'm not sure when I'll be teaching, I use the things that I've learned almost every day of my life.
2011 was a big year for me to say the least. I married the man of my dreams, I finally graduated from college, and I found out that I am pregnant with our first baby boy! I couldn't be more excited to be a mom and Quinn could not be more excited to have a little boy so he can play sports with him and teach him man stuff. We're expecting our little monkey in July and are having an incredibly hard time coming up with a name. Good thing we've got plenty of time still. :)
And last, but not least, here is a list of some "fun" facts about me:
- I have a defective right toenail.
- I love skulls--skull earrings, skull fabric, skull everything--but I am far from being gothic or rock 'n roll in any other way.
- I played softball for several years in my youth, but my favorite sport to watch and play is basketball.
- I've been skydiving, swimming with sting rays, canyoneering and to more than my fair share of Mary Kay parties.
- I love running and have missed it a lot since I got pregnant.
- The human body kind of disgusts me.
- I love Mexican food more than any other food in the whole world.
- Disneyland has never lost its magic for me.
- I'm terrible at snowboarding and wakeboarding and any other type of boarding, but I LOVE trying to the demise of those who are kind enough to take me with them.
Really all you need to know about me is that I love the Gospel and I love my husband more every day. Also, you should know that I'm ecstatic to be working on this blog and hope to bring lots of good information and helpful hints to all of you!
