Rebrand and Revamp: The new LDS Bride Blog!

This is our 100th post and we are celebrating our redesign!

We've made a lot of changes, but the "meat and potatoes" of what the LDS does and stands for is ever the same.

So, empty the cache and check out our new features:
  • The "Us" page tells you a bit more about Becky and Paige
  • The "Links" page has been updated and refreshed
  • We have a whole new "Advertise" section that makes it easier than ever to sponsor the LDS Bride blog.
  • The LDS Baby is in the works and will be launching with in the week. (eek!)
  • And we have a brand new Shop! Its pretty simple, powered by Cafe Press (if you purchase through their marketplace, you'll pay substantially more). All the designs are original and all purchases go to funding giveaways and keeping this blog live.
That brings me to our next order of business...

The winner will receive any one item from the LDS Bride shop.
See the Rallfecopter widget below for rules and how to enter, be sure to follow the directions to receive multiple entries!

Celebrating February

Oh February, the month of love!
And this year, the month of one extra day too.

We've decided to celebrate both by giving you extra love.

Instead of one wedding per week, in the month of February we'll be posting THREE weddings per week.  (you know you're excited.)

But first...

Its Engagement Monday!

Oh yeah. We're back.

Hi, this is Paige...
Ok, I know.
Its been too long.
Way too long.

But I have some good news; Maternity leave is over.
The LDS Bride blog is totally and completely back :D

I have some more good news; My beautiful (and über talented) sister-in-law is joining our team and prepared to blow your mind with her awesomeness...probably.

So without further ado... meet Becky -

My name is Becky Green and I am so excited to be part of the LDS Bride team! As my first contribution to this fantastic blog, let me tell you a little bit about myself. . .

I was raised in an LDS family in Orange County. I met my husband, Quinn, at some stake activity some time in our youth. Neither of us can really remember which one. But we're so glad that it happened! Even though we spent most of high school and college as friends, we finally realized that we were MFEO (meant for each other-- there's a Sleepless in Seattle reference for the fans out there), fell in love, and were married in April of last year, just shy of a year after Quinn got home from his mission to Puebla, Mexico.

Me and Quinn at our reception in April 2011

While Quinn was busy knocking doors in Mexico, I was busy getting my degree from Brigham Young University in English teaching. I love the beauty and power of the written word and find grammar oddly fascinating. I recently finished my student teaching at a middle school in Sandy, UT and graduated in December of 2011. I value my education very much, and even though I'm not sure when I'll be teaching, I use the things that I've learned almost every day of my life.

2011 was a big year for me to say the least. I married the man of my dreams, I finally graduated from college, and I found out that I am pregnant with our first baby boy! I couldn't be more excited to be a mom and Quinn could not be more excited to have a little boy so he can play sports with him and teach him man stuff. We're expecting our little monkey in July and are having an incredibly hard time coming up with a name. Good thing we've got plenty of time still. :)

And last, but not least, here is a list of some "fun" facts about me:
  • I have a defective right toenail.
  • I love skulls--skull earrings, skull fabric, skull everything--but I am far from being gothic or rock 'n roll in any other way.
  • I played softball for several years in my youth, but my favorite sport to watch and play is basketball.
  • I've been skydiving, swimming with sting rays, canyoneering and to more than my fair share of Mary Kay parties.
  • I love running and have missed it a lot since I got pregnant.
  • The human body kind of disgusts me.
  • I love Mexican food more than any other food in the whole world.
  • Disneyland has never lost its magic for me.
  • I'm terrible at snowboarding and wakeboarding and any other type of boarding, but I LOVE trying to the demise of those who are kind enough to take me with them.
Really all you need to know about me is that I love the Gospel and I love my husband more every day. Also, you should know that I'm ecstatic to be working on this blog and hope to bring lots of good information and helpful hints to all of you!

A Quick LDS Bride Blog Update!

Ok, two weeks off and now we're gonna hit the ground running! There have been a few changes here and there, so clear your cache, and take a good look around!

Our "Daily Love" has become our "Weekly" love because everyday was just too much for me.

I've added an "I'm a Mormon" button under ABOUT THE LDS BRIDE that leads directly to my personal Mormon.org profile. (which is a lot like the "Paige's Story" page -- which I just wanted to thank everyone who has left comments or sent me emails regarding my personal story. I truly do appreciate all of your thanks, support, and common stories you share with me. Its wonderful, and so very uplifting!)

I've also added a "Mormon." button under ABOUT THE LDS CHURCH that leads to the Main Mormon.org page.

I've rearranged sections and sidebars, including our "grabable" button, under SHOW YOUR LOVE (to the right) so you can copy and paste the code to your own blog!

We also have a new featured Temple, as it is the first of the month, so check that out too.

I've added a few new categories to the LOVE THE CATEGORIES list on the bottom right, and of course don't forget to check our wonderful sponsors!

Thanks for the quick read, and onto the weddings!

~Paige

And here's a fun photo of me and my eternal companion. Totally made for each other.  :)
