The very talented Marielle Hayes sent over this Oakland Temple wedding and I simply adore it.
It got short dresses, yellow accents, ruffled shoes and paper cranes. Its got it all!
Ok, first off: her dress! Are you kidding me?! Its seriously way too cute.
Just look at the dropped waist, the lace and "pooch" of the skirt… I would seriously ware this every day.
I really like her simple bouquets too. Just lillies for the bride and some wrapped gerbera daisies for the bridesmaids.
Birdcage veil, dropped pearl earrings, slight corset to the dress, feminine details to the neck line and sleeves, natural, long, slightly curly hair and a groom with a subtle pattern on his suit. I'd say Rachel and Tim reached style perfection.
Can you get any cuter than those shoes? and I love how Tim's watch matches his ring.
As you know, I adore this cupcake/wedding cake trend. R+T make it lovely with pale blue and white.

When Tim and I decided to tie the knot I went right to work with wedding planning. With a very low money budget I felt like one of the mistakes I made was getting my hopes set on expensive wedding décors. When I look back I realize now that the one thing that makes your wedding special is your own uniqueness you put into it. Something that someone would say “Oh yeah that’s Rachel”.
Some of the best moments are those that you get to share with your mother and sisters. Having them right by your side to help with ideas and decisions, it could be sometimes tough all by yourself.
When the wedding day was finally in full swing I felt like I just had to work with what I had and what may have come that day. After all the planning that goes into a wedding I couldn’t wait to see it all play out. As I saw more and more familiar faces arrive I knew the time would shortly come that I was eagerly waiting for. The day that I got to see my whole family together in the temple and as well knowing that I was starting a new family with my eternal companion. So many great feelings came over me as I stepped out of the temple for the first time realizing I was not only responsible for myself but as well as a companionship with my new husband.
Some of my favorite details were the ones I made myself. All though I can’t say I made my wedding dress I did put some effort into doing the bead work on the sleeves and neck. It was a simple tea-cup length wedding dress. I feel like it was one of my favorite details not only because I put my own work into it by designing it, but it was different from others that I had seen. It was shorter which made it perfect for the hot June weather we were having.
My cake toppers were another favorite of mine. It was one thing that I got my hopes set on knowing that they were too expensive, but with some crafts from the craft store I was able to figure out how to make it myself. I think it took me the longest to complete, but when I was finished I couldn’t wait to show it off.
For me saving money was one of my main concerns. I believe now that with a glue gun and scissors anyone could be crafty and the things you make yourself will end up being your favorite part of your wedding.
Some of my vendors from the wedding were Marielle Hayes Photography who did a beautiful job on all the pictures. Annette Stevenson whose vendor is Aunt Netsie they catered the reception and did an excellent job of making sure I was fully involved with the food that was served. Mot Miller made my dress. She is an excellent seamstress. I was able to describe my dream dress I wanted and she pieced it together perfectly. I found the hardest things to find were brides maid dresses. I found mine on a web site called Shabbyapple.com who features modest dresses. I was also able to get lots of great ideas from esty.com where I also got my French netting for my veil. Theknot.com I found was a very helpful web site to go to find ideas for flowers, wedding colors and everything else that goes into planning a wedding. I had so much fun designing my own wedding and most of all seeing everything come together at the end.
