Mormon Messages: The Blessings of the Temple

"Death cannot sever families sealed in the temple." -Elder Russell M. Nelson

If you are like so many LDS brides, you will be sealed in a temple of the Lord. You may have received your endowments years ago and know of the blessings of the temple already, but if you are receiving your endowments shortly before you get sealed, it is so important to take time to focus on this incredibly sacred event. The temples of the Lord are places of learning and peace. Never forget the significance of getting sealed in the House of the Lord. There is no greater place to start a family because it ensures that you will be together forever, not just until death do you part.

Annie and Brendan: Salt Lake City Utah Temple Wedding

This fabulous wedding was submitted by the talented Justin Hackworth Photography and we are so grateful he shared this with us.

Annie and Brendan put together a beautifully detailed and unique celebration. They incorporated lots of personal touches that that truly shine through

Such a handsome couple.

The doors on this temple are so gorgeous! You can't miss the opportunity to take a few pictures here if this is where you get sealed. Also notice Brendan's stylish grey suit. You don't have to go with traditional black. A nice grey or brown will do the trick too--not to mention add a little bit of extra style.

Annie's dress has such beautiful details! Notice all the fabric wrapping--this makes a perfect dress to add a small jacket to for a more modest look. It will look like it's just part of the dress.

Love this simple but gorgeous flower detail!

What adorable little details Annie thought of for her wedding!

All of these adorable labels were created by Annie.

Empty frames are such a great idea! There were plenty of them at the reception.

Candy jars! Everyone's favorite table.

Such a cute "a b" theme! See if you can do the same with your initials.

These simple white frames with photos and saying in them are a great way to decorate!

Again, Annie designed all these adorable labels. And what an awesome idea for serving hot drinks.

Such a cute way to make decorations or center pieces: three smaller vases instead of one larger one.

What a beautiful cake! Sometimes, the simpler, the better. This couple stuck with one color for their cake, but the details are gorgeous and it looks so elegant.

Candle light is always so romantic! Never underestimate its power.

Cheese, cheese, and more cheese! How could you possible go wrong?

Amazing ruffles on her gown!

And off they go! What a fun, adorable couple! Also notice the sparklers--an easy and exciting way to send the happy couple on their way. (It's also less messy than rice and makes for better pictures.)

Kelley and Tom: Draper Utah Temple Wedding

Kelley and Tom were sealed in the Draper, UT temple and had a perfectly elegant reception at Mill Creek Inn. This beautiful mother of two makes such a stunning bride! This is one of the most stylish and graceful weddings! Images were submitted by Kamee June Photography.

The Draper temple is so beautiful inside and out! What an amazing location for such a beautiful union.

Kelley is wearing the most beautiful Vera Wang dress that she had altering to make it modest for her temple wedding.

Such a unique collection of flowers that matches perfectly with the sash on her dress.

What an amazing idea for a cake! Instead of decorating with frosting or flowers, this couple chose lemon shavings and actual lemons and it looks fantastic!

What a cute idea for a card collector at the reception! AND this couple can use the mailbox on their new home together if they so desire as well.

Such a cute family portrait! They bought it on Etsy.com and it is just adorable.

What a great idea for table decorations: beautiful flower pots and old family pictures.

Lanterns add amazing decoration and light for both indoor and outdoor receptions.

Kelley found this beautiful gold leaf hairpin on Etsy.com as well.

Kelly's soft swept back hairstyle is so elegant!

SO cute! These golden bow shoes are adorable and probably a steal. Kelley found them at TJ Max!

Notice the wooden block decorations for the pictures and the beautiful pearl strings. The details at this wedding are so soft and understated and they make such a elegant combination.

Kelley looks so peaceful and content. She is an absolutely gorgeous bride.

Not to mention a very happy one. :)

Jessica and Carter: Washington DC Temple Wedding

Happy Valentine's Day!!! What better way to celebrate this wonderful holiday of love than with an LDS Bride wedding?!

We are so happy to feature Emily Heizer Photography again on The LDS Bride. She's one of our lovely sponsors and a very talented photographer. Check out this bride's sister's wedding that we featured about a year and a half ago to see more of Emily Heizer's work.

This week's first wedding comes to us from the Washington DC temple and features a beautiful Virginia park reception.

Jessica's vibrant calla lily bouquet is just so gorgeous and unique.

All the lace on Jessica's dress is so beautiful and the three-quarter sleeves make for a warmer, sophisticated look.

Such a cute bridal party or family shot idea. Letting your personalities show in your photos  makes them so much more memorable.

I absolutely love Jessica's headband! It's not every day that you see a bride with a colorful headband and I think it really brightens up her look and gives her some extra oomph, if you will.

Lace-up backs are fantastic! Not only do they look amazing, but they allow some breathing room for the bride so that she doesn't have to kill herself dieting before the wedding, but if she happens to lose a few pounds, the dress will still fit like a glove and she'll look gorgeous either way and still be able to breathe on the big day.

Even with the bright colors in the wedding, Jessica is so graceful and makes soft, romantic images like this one  entirely possible.

Such adorable shoes! And they even match the headband! This girl is put together from head to toe, literally.

The bride and groom had a catered luncheon with family and friends and then later had a reception in a public park.

Such cute, modest bridesmaids dresses! These are definitely the type of dresses these ladies will want to wear again.

How sweet is this little bunny?!

Pitchers with spigots are the way to go! They make for a cleaner beverage experience and it's generally easier to keep them filled than punch bowls or smaller pitchers. Not to mention how nice they look on a refreshment table.

Such beautiful sunlight coming in on this picture! And such elegant decorations on the table as well. The flowers surrounded by candle sticks is so romantic.

These orange, lime, and lemon slices look so good in the water pitchers and somehow make cold water or lemonade look even more appetizing.

SUCH a gorgeous and unique cake! The almonds around the edges make the cake seem a little warmer and the separate layers are so beautiful and probably easier to cut up and devour than a traditional three-layer cake.

What a beautiful shot! This couple is absolutely beaming. :)

And they lived happily ever after...
